Arceo, Ruben Umali

A good husband and a father…

Many things to many people, but to us he was–

Compassionate, generous, honest, caring, loving

Happy with a sarcastic sense of humor

Adventurous:  Lover of travel and good food

Accounting, photography and casino aficionado

Responsible, hard-worker, diligent, go-getter

A fighter for his beliefs—

Stubborn, opinionated, short-tempered

Stoic, but most of all he was human.

He will be missed by those that know and love him.

Ruben’s wishes were to be cremated and his life celebrated happily as he lived it.  Funeral celebrations are as follows:

  • Funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 6th, 11:00am at Mary Immaculate Church (2800 Valwood Parkway, Farmers Branch, TX 75234)
  • Columbarium internment of Ruben’s ashes to follow after the mass, on church grounds.
  • Family and friends gathering and reception to be held after.

In lieu of flowers, mass offerings and prayers for Ruben are appreciated.

Please send the family condolences on this website.

Anna, I am so sorry to hear of your loss, our parents are who we lean on in difficult times and who we hope to make proud in this life, I can not imagine what you are going through. Know that we will be praying for your family and for your pops.
I know he loved his "little girl" very much.

We have shared so many precious times with Ruben. Those were happy and memorable moments. Ruben's sense of humor is truly astounding and he can make dull moments seem more alive and beautiful. We will miss you, Ruben, but your memory will always stay in our hearts and minds. Rest in peace. Cherish the embrace of God's warm love. Be rest assured that we will stay in touch with Fely and continue to build more happy memories with her. Intercede for us so that we may all, one day, enjoy the company of the Lord and His courts in heaven. Rest in peace, Ruben. We will miss you and we love you.

Tito Ruben was an amazing Uncle. He always has a joke or two to share. He had a wonderful sense of humor. I love that smile of his. He gave us insightful advice with a touch of lightheartedness. He was a devoted husband and father. I am appreciative that I got to spent some time with him when he was living in on East Coast. I will always love him.

Tita Fely, AnnaMarie, Raffie and Reggie: I hope that you will find comfort and peace - Shalom! Remember and cherish the memories - then he will live forever.

Tita Fely - I bet Tito Ruben, Tito Meo, Tatay and the rest are making a ruckus in heaven, and having the best of times - An Arceo get-together. Tita, you can always call me ... I am there for you as always. I love you.

Reggie, losing a parent is never easy. I recently lost both of mine. You should know that you handled things the way you needed to to ensure his quality of life. Take things one day at a time. Memories will swarm you and bring a smile to your face and other times tears. Just embrace it. Allow yourself to feel all the different emotions. Lean on others when needed because there will be times you feel it is too much. Love him. Remember him. And cherish all the time you had with him. Prayers to you and your family!
