Obituary of
Brooks Sr., Harold Albert
Harold Albert Brooks Sr. went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, March 20, 2015. Harold was born to the late Hagen and Lucille Brooks, September 21, 1934 in Athens, Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his sister Mary Angeline Brooks.
After graduating from Lime Stone County High school he joined the United States Army. After serving the United States Army, he started his own paint contracting/remodeling business in the greater Dallas area and successfully operated his business for over 40 plus years. Harold loved to play softball and was celebrated as one of the most outstanding fast pitch pitchers in the Dallas metroplex area. Harold also loved to coach boy's baseball and football and was respected by his players and other coaches. He is remembered by many of his players who he coached. He encouraged them to do their very best and to always respect others. He would always say "work hard and when you do something, do it right the first time".
Harold is survived by two children: Harold A. Brooks Jr., of Little Rock, Arkansas; Billy Don Brooks, of Lewisville, Texas. He also is survived by his 2 sisters; Doris Anne Black and Jo Vinson Bailey of Athens, Alabama. He also is survived by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation and Viewing will be held Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am and Funeral Services from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm in the Brooks Family Chapel at the Ā John P. Brooks and Family North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234.Ā Interment with military honors will be held at 1:00 pm at the DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211Ā following the Funeral Service.

Harold and I worked toghether when I was employed by Amresco. He was my go-to-man and helped with so many repair jobs. He also redid our home in Carrollton. He will alwasy be a special friend to us. I pray that God will bless the family and know that He was a very special part of our lives.

Jo and I are so sorry that we could not make the trip, due to health reasons. We are so glad that we did get to spend some time with him last year after he came home from the hospital. Just know that we love you all very much and hope we can get together soon. May God bless you all richly.
