Obituary of
Rooker, Catherine Anne Lewis
Catherine Anne Lewis Rooker – Cathy passed away suddenly in her home in Rowlett, Texas on March 23, 2015. She is at peace and without pain in Paradise with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Cathy was born on July 1, 1957 in Freeport, Texas to Jeanine Eminian Lewis and Harvin Robert Lewis.
Cat lived in a number of places – She grew up in Lake Jackson, TX and moved to Angleton, TX, where she finished high school. She also had residence in Austin, TX; Key West, FL; Houston, TX; Tucson, AZ; Big Bear Lake, CA and Rowlett, TX. As a young adventerous person, she worked a variety of jobs – on a survey crew, in a bank, as a cook on a deep sea fishing boat, and as a leasing agent for an apartment complex. Her calling was into the legal profession. She graduated top in her class, obtained her Associates Degree and worked for many years in Houston and Tucson as a Paralegal.
Cathy is survived by her son, Stephen Robertson, who was the light of her life. As a widow from her second husband, she was instrumental in guiding Stephen into sports (football and karate) and into the Boy Scouts, where Stephen ultimately achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Cathy went on many campouts with Stephen and actively participated in his life.
She was the loving wife of Donald Rooker, whom with they made many homes together in TX, AZ and CA, where they attended or were members of either the Episcopal or Disciples of Christ Churhes. They were married in Hawaii, and were also able to travel together to great cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Sacramento, Seattle, Phoenix, San Antonio, Corpus, Memphis, New Orleans, Birmingham, Atlanta, Tampa, Chicago, Washington D.C., Cancun, MX; among others.
She was known for her passion for crafts – she created beautiful flower arrangements, with live and artificial flowers. She often contributed flowers and decorations which she made for several functions at her church. Cat loved to welcome friends and family into her home. She would spend countless hours searching for, making and displaying decorations for her home to make the occasion special for her guests. She also had the fashion passion – she knew her look, how to dress and she was never seen without eyebrows as perfect as she could make them.
Cathy was a friend of Bill’s for many years – to the day she passed.
Cathy was preceded in death by parents and brother (Robert Eminian Lewis).
Cathy is survived by her husband Don; son Stephen and his wife Alicia; sister Arden Hyatt and her husband Cory; her step-daughter Jennifer and her “puppy gal pal” Daisy. Her love, spirit, smile and big heart will be missed by all who knew her. We all look forward to reuniting someday in Paradise.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Cathy’s life will be at her church – First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Rowlett, located at 7301 Miller Road in Rowlett 75088 on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 10 a.m.
If you are so moved, flowers can be sent to the church through Treasured Blossoms or Cathy would direct donations to her church or to Friends of Rowlett Animals.
Please send the family condolences and/or share memories on this website.

Cat you will be missed and the sudden passing of you is such a great loss. You were so kind and I will always remember the beautiful flower arrangements that you always brought when came to our house and for birtdays. We always admired the beauty of them and where amazed by how long they lasted. They represented a reflection of your talent, beauty and ability to stay strong despite what health issues you were dealt with. Our hearts go out to Don and your family.
