Obituary of Vance, Curtis Allen

Curtis Allen Vance, 63, of Rhome, TX passed away on May 7th, 2015 in Wylie, TX. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday May 30th at 11am at the North Texas High School Rodeo Arena in Saginaw, Texas. Curtis was born in Rohwer, AR to Carmen and Thelda Vance on August 16th 1951.  He attended high school at Central High School in Little Rock, AR, and served in the Army from 1969 to 1975.  He was very involved in the North Texas High School Rodeo Association from 1992 – 2010. Curtis is survived by his Wife, Kathi Vance; Sister Carol Patton; Son, Jeff Vance; Daughter, Rebecca Flick; Daughter in Law, Jennifer Vance; Son in Law, Brian Flick; Sister in law, Linda Henry and Grandchildren: Allan Vance, Joseph Vance, Austin Vance, Chloe Flick and Vance Flick. He is preceded in death by his Mother Carmen Vance and Brothers Ponti Vance, Noble Vance and J.C. Vance. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Curtis Vance Scholarship through the North Texas High School Rodeo Association.  Please email rebeflick@gmail.com for additional details.  The family wishes to extend their gratitude to everyone for such kind words during this difficult time.     Curtis and Kathy were a very important part of my girls high school rodeo career. Curtis was very kind and encouraging helped to train and lead both my girls to finals in steer undecorating. He will forever be a part of our family and greatly missed!!!! I loved watching him with his grand kids as he loved them SO much!! God brought home a good cowboy in Curtis!

    Curtis and Kathy were a very important part of my girls high school rodeo career. Curtis was very kind and encouraging helped to train and lead both my girls to finals in steer undecorating. He will forever be a part of our family and greatly missed!!!! I loved watching him with his grand kids as he loved them SO much!! God brought home a good cowboy in Curtis!
