Obituary of Proctor, Marilyn Mosley

Marilyn Mosley Proctor went to be with the Lord on Sunday August 9, 2015, just shy of her 84th birthday. Marilyn was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on September 6, 1931 and was a lifelong resident of Fort Worth, having attended public schools here and graduating from Paschal High School in 1949 and from the University of Texas in 1953. She remained a proud Longhorn for the rest of her life. She also received a Master’s degree in Education from Texas Christian University in 1986. Marilyn taught elementary school in Hawaii in the mid-1950’s before it became a state and then taught in Fort Worth and Everman for decades until she retired in 1992. She was a wonderful teacher whose former students still contacted her to thank her for the education and care she had provided them. She was the proud mother of a daughter Lynn Proctor and a son John William Proctor and his wife Mary Lee Proctor, and is also survived by three grandsons, John William Jr. (Jack), James Jeffrey, (Jeff) and Jacob Paul, (Jake). She loved seeing her three grandsons and her three great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Adelaide and Annaleigh. She so wanted to remain until her two great-grandsons to be were born, but was also ready to be with the Lord. Until her health no longer permitted she was an active member of Christ Chapel Bible Church in Fort Worth. She loved and cherished her many friends and neighbors and in Fort Worth and the Tanglewood area. For most of her life she was an avid walker and loved to sit in her front yard and chat with passers-by. She was also a volunteer for the All-Church Home, and was a contributor to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the American Cancer Society, and the American Heart Association. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Guy William and Reba Helen Mosley, and by her sister Gloria Sue, “Sudie,” Wiley. She missed her sister Sudie and loved her very much, as well as Sudie’s two sons William Wiley and Michael Wiley. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 14, 2015 at 10:30 and Christ Chapel Bible Church at 3701 Birchman Avenue in Fort Worth. In lieu of flowers gifts can be made to Christ Chapel Bible Church or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
