Obituary of Gebron Jr., Joe

Joe Gebron, Jr. is finally at peace. He was born in Dallas, Texas on December 8, 1925 and left this earth on October 31, 2015.Ā  He was preceded in death by LaVerne Gebron his wife of 69 years, parents Joe Sr. & Sadie Gebron, Brothers Dan, Sophie, Albert and Henry Gebron.Ā  Sisters, Maggie Smithey, Thelma Farmer, Jody Gebron and Jeanette Mills.Ā  He is survived by daughters Suzanne Morgan Miles and husband Bill, Lisa Bufkin and husband Ron, Annette Webster and husband Pat, sons Joe (Joey) Gebron, who preceded him in death, Robert Gebron and wife Devin, John Gebron and Tom Gebron.Ā Ā  He leaves behind grandchildren Louisa Morgan Dush, Brandon Morgan, Amber Bufkin, Emily & Catherine Gebron, Jordan & Joseph Webster, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Joe attended Crozier Tech High School in Dallas, Texas.Ā  He then served in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1946. He worked as a roller skating instructor at the roller rink in Fair Park where he met and fell in love with his wife.Ā  Shortly following that introduction and under the Midway sign at the State Fair he asked LaVerne to marry him. Joe became an accomplished home builder and help establish many developments throughout the Dallas Metroplex. Later he specialized in the remodeling of homes and commercial spaces. Joe loved playing golf and hosted regular poker games with his buddies. He and his favorite golfing partner LaVerne were members of Las Colinas Country Club, Great Southwest, Lost Creek, Pecan Plantation & Brookhaven Country Club.Ā  They traveled to many golf destinations across the country.Ā  His favorite trips were those they took to Las Vegas.Ā  They loved dressing up for dinner and a show!Ā  He and his wife also enjoyed playing bridge with many of their close friends. A devout catholic, Joe worshiped and was active at St. Monica Catholic Church in Dallas, St. Ann Catholic Church in Coppell and Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Farmers Branch. A memorial service to honor the life of Joe Gebron, Jr. will be held at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 2800 Valwood Parkway, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234Ā at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 4th, 2015.
