Obituary of Taylor, Lynda Ruth (Innes)

Lynda Ruth Taylor went to be with the Lord on January 2, 2015. Ā She fought a hard fight in the face of what we all knew would eventually take her from us. She never gave up and she continued to inspire. She prayed hard and remained optimistic. She loved, she laughed, she cried, she was who she always had been. This disease never defined her. Rather she focused on what made her stronger and that was her faith. Founded by her parents, she fortified her belief by truly giving it all up to Him. So many times along this journey, as well as throughout her life, she found comfort in knowing that she was not in control. It made the path she walked much easier to navigate. Lynda would be the first to tell you of the many answered prayers she witnessed. So many amazing and meaningful opportunities were seized along the way. She slowed us all down so we would not miss a moment of this tough passage. She was a teacher for 30 years, well beyond the classroom and a counselor to many. She was a published author of two children's books, which was a lifelong goal she held. For those that called her a friend would soon call her family. For those that called her a teacher, would recognize she was their mom away from home. If you needed anything, she was there. Lynda had an open arm policy, all of the time. She was a hug with a huge heart behind the action. She made you feel loved. She longed to lend a helping hand. She was selfless. She was and will remain to be so many things to so many people. As for our family, we cannot thank you all enough for the prayers you provided, the cards that were sent, the visits, the calls, the encouragement, the selfless acts of kindness and the strength we knew we could rely on during this extremely difficult time. She is survived by her loving husband Glen; children, Wendy and husband, Brian Badgwell, Wil and wife, Bonnie Brooks, Neal and wife, Michelle Taylor, Amy Taylor, Jake Taylor; grandchildren, Riley, Lilly, Brody, Jack, Shelby, Austin, Sarah and Tessa; her brothers Craig and wife, Marsha Innes and Jim Innes, amongst many cousins, nieces, nephews and hundreds if not thousands of friends.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be on Saturday, January 9,Ā 2016 at 11:00am at:
Our Savior Lutheran
2708 W. Virginia Pkwy
McKinney, TX 75071

In lieu of flowers Mom would prefer a donation to one of the following charities: https://www.sarctrials.org/donateĀ Ā  orĀ Ā Ā Ā https://www.curesarcoma.org/ She lived her life with one main scripture to guide her: Philippians 4:13 (NIV)Ā  "I can do all this through him who gives me strength". Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.

I am so sorry to hear about Lynda. She was my son, Andrew’s, kindergarten teacher. I still think of her often. She was so loving and caring. It was such a treat when Glen brought his fireman gear to school for the kids to try on. I was so touched that she took time to write Andrew when he graduated from high school. She was truly a special woman. I hope you find comfort in knowing how many lives she touched and that she was so loved. May God comfort you when you are missing her and bring you smiles when you share your memories of her.

I would like to send my condolences to the family and friends of Taylor Ruth, and would like to share a comforting thought from the bible. In revelation 21:4 And he will wipe out every tear from thier eyes, and death will be no more neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. Sincerly Bea

I ask God to bless and comfort you and lead you to the peace that only He can offer us. I loved Lynda as a dear friend and Sister in Christ. When my husband was losing his battle with liver cancer her and Glen were there to offer comfort, laughter and prayer. She could always make me laugh through the tears. I love you Lynda, I am sure you are in Heaven praying for all of us. God bless the entire family and many friends of Lynda’s. She was and always will be a true child of God. With love and thanksgiving for unselfishly sharing we her with us while she was ill. Shawn Hoskins
