Obituary of Rice, Melissa (Hiatt)

Melissa (Hiatt) Rice of Dallas, Texas passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at the age of 98. Melissa was born May 5th, 1917 in Laredo, Texas to Mildred and Garfield Hiatt. She graduated from Cathedral School of Saint Mary in Austin, Texas. Melissa married Bert Rice on September 25th, 1937. She worked as a Realtor with Henry S. Miller. Melissa was a member of First Unitarian Church, Dallas. Her parents, husband and great-grandson, Ryan Harrison, preceded her in death. Melissa is survived by her daughter, Linda Batchelor; grandson, Mike Crews; granddaughters, Mary Wilkinson, Rebecca Denke and Rachel Harrison; great grandchildren, Daniel Lindsay, Timothy Wilkinson, Meredith Wilkinson, Katrina Wilkinson, Makenzie Woodson, Melissa Woodson, Ethan Booth, Emily Harrison, William Harrison and Jacob Harrison. Graveside services will be on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 11:30 am in Mission Park South Cemetery, 1700 S. E. Military Drive, San Antonio, Texas 78214.Ā  Memorial Service will be at 2:00 p.m. onĀ Saturday, April 16, 2016Ā at First Unitarian Church, 4015 Normandy Avenue, Dallas, Texas. Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
