Obituary of Lee, Ruth (Hasley)

Ruth (Hasley) Lee born, October 5, 1928 to her wonderful parents Clyde & Ruth Hasley, in Gunter, Texas was called to meet her Lord on August 7, 2016. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; and four sisters. Ruth’s love of life and genuine care and concern for others spread in contagious joy that blessed everyone she knew. There was no greater happiness, joy and love for her than to be with her son Raymond Pistol and grandson, Troy.  Ruth loved being surrounded by her treasured family and friends. She inspired strength and resiliency of spirit. As a friend, she tended many with her generous spirit and hospitality. Ruth will be missed greatly by her family and many friends. She is survived by her son, Raymond Pistol; grandson, Troy; sister, Elizabeth Lawler; and her nieces and nephews, which she had a special love for, Mike and Byron Umphress, Rhonda Garvin, David & Katrina Hasley, Vicki Hasley, Ellen & John Sampsel, Paula & Mike Leimer, Mike Rutherford and many dearly loved great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234. Celebration of Life service will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 also in the Brooks Family Chapel. Interment will follow the service at 3:00 pm in Gunter Cemetery in Gunter, Texas. I ran into Ruth many times as an FBPD officer. She was always funny and always made me feel appreciated. She will sorely be missed.

We sure loved you, Pnut. You were special to Aunt Millie and you were always special to all of us. I admired your love for life and how much you always knew. You were one smart cookie! I know you are smiling from Heaven. Give Aunt Millie a hug for us! Love you, always.
