Tyler Jr., John (Jack) W.
John W. Tyler Jr. "Jack" of Trinidad Texas, passed peacefully surrounded by his family, on September 1, 2016 at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Carrollton, Texas from complications of cancer.
Jack was born October 19, 1940 in St. Cloud Minnesota. He attended St. Thomas College, then moved to Texas and attended Arlington State College where he met Judith Marie Hicks, his soul mate, who became his wife of 53 years.
Jack enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1963 and served with honor in Vietnam. He returned home in 1966 to the birth of his first daughter, Wendy Knight Tyler, and of daughter, Elizabeth Tyler three years later.
Jack began his post-Corps career at Kmart but found his true passion working in Financial Services/Wealth Management. Jack retired from American National Bank in Kaufman, TX where he participated in Lions Club and several other non-profit organizations. Jack, an avid Notre Dame fan, never ceased to learn new things and often told his daughters "when you stop learning you die".
Jack is survived by his wife, Judith; his daughters, Elizabeth, Wendy and her husband, Bret Schlueter; two sisters, Susan Tyler of Galveston, Texas and Jill Tyler Gresham of Centerville, Texas; brother, Patrick Tyler of Washington, DC.
A Memorial gathering will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 pm on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Cedar Creek Country Club, 18392 Country Club Drive, Kemp, Texas 75143.
