Obituary of Roberson Jr., Gilbert Detroy

Gilbert Detroy Roberson, Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at the age of 62. He was born the eldest son of eight children, to the late Reverend Gilbert Roberson and Bobbie Jean Roberson on January 20, 1954, in Tacoma, Washington. He proudly served as a Sergeant in the United States Army, and retired after 20 years of service.  He was later employed as a bus driver in Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority. He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Bobbie Moore of Corpus Christi; four daughters, Tiffany, Kiara and Supriya Roberson, and Tanisha Williams of Irving, Texas; along with his grandson, Josiah Hill; his son, Jawaan Roberson of Olympia, Washington; ten siblings, Darlene Mallory of California, Linda Roberson of Austin, Texas, Shirley Roberson of Los Angles, California, Willie Roberson of Burlington, Iowa, Darrell Roberson of Corpus Christi, Sandra Crenshaw of Arlington, Texas, and Debbie Kinney of Houston, Texas, Delicia Roberson-Price of Dinwiddle, Virginia, Tanya Roberson-Pickens of Duluth, Georgia, and Kevin Roberson of Austin, Texas; several nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends. Memorial services will be at 12:00 pm on Friday, September 16, 2016 in the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234. Inurnment, with military honors, will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at the DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Military Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.
