Obituary of Kaplan, Robert J.

Robert J. Kaplan of Carrollton, Texas passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016 at the age of 75 after a long illness. Bob was born on May 11, 1941 in Brooklyn, New York.Ā  He had an extensive career in textile sales to the fashion industry starting in New York and continuing in Dallas where he moved in 1971.Ā  He love the business and working with his customers.Ā  A musician at heart and accomplished percussionist, he played with the Plano community band during the 90's and found great joy the last five years as a member of the Carrollton Strummers, a senior band that performed for a variety of senior facilities in the area. Bob is survived by his wife, Marian; daughter, Allison and son, Craig. A Memorial service will be at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 in the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234.Ā  Rabbi Jeffrey Leynor officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you make a donation to the charity of your choice in Bob's memory. Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.

    I had the privilege of knowing Bob over the last 15 years not only as a client, but more importantly as a friend. Bob had this aurora about him that instantly brought a smile to your face. I sincerely enjoyed my time with him and the conversations about life that we shared. He will be missed by many. Prayers to his family and friends during this difficult time.
