Gaona, Herminia Rodriguez
Herminia Rodriguez Gaona of Carrollton, Texas formally of Aransas Pass/ Abilene, Texas went to be with the Lord Sunday morning, October 02, 2016 she was surrounded by family. She was at the home of her daughter Sylvia and passed peacefully in her sleep after a long battle with Multiple Myeloma cancer, she fought the most courageous battle.
Herminia was born on April 25, 1930 in Coleman, Texas; she is predeceased by her parents, Santos and Martha Rodriguez of Abilene, Texas, and her husband of fifty-five years, Jose ‘Che’ Bernal Gaona Sr. of Aransas Pass/ Abilene, Texas.
Her life journey; a homemaker and involved in her children’s various school activities, a loving grandmother and great-grandmother to the children she raised, as well as all her grandchildren. She was a self employed entrepreneur, and retired from Texas Instruments in Abilene, Texas. She was a member of the Graham Street Church of Christ, rooted in a deep Christian faith. When she was not working her pastimes included; a passion for gardening, she was a fisherwoman, she loved to camp and be outdoors with her family, and she found much enjoyment at the beach where she and her husband spent many a day.
Visitation will be held at North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234 on Saturday, October 08, 2016 at 10:00 – 1:00 pm with service immediately following at 1:00 pm with her nephew Adam Cisneros, of Abilene, Texas officiating. A graveside committal service will be held in Aransas Pass, Texas on Monday, October 10, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Prairie View Cemetery where she will be joined with her husband Jose ‘Che’ Bernal Gaona Sr.

Herminia is survived by her children: Jose B. Gaona Jr. (Elvira) of Arlington, Texas; Antonio R. Gaona (Peggy) of Portland, Texas; Sylvia A. Gaona (Donna) of Carrollton, Texas; and Cynthia G. Solis (Gary) of Plaquemine, Louisiana; ten (10) grandchildren, thirteen (13) great grandchildren, and one on the way.
