Morales, Virginia (Carrillo)

Virginia Carrillo Morales of Farmers Branch, Texas passed away on November 17, 2016 at the age of 79.

The family will receive family and friends on Monday, November 21, 2016 from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm in the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas.  The rosary will be at 7:00 pm

Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at 10:00 am at North Dallas Funeral Home.

Virginia was born October 2, 1937 in New York City, New York.  The family moved back to Galveston, Texas where Virginia graduated from Ball High School.  As a young woman, Virginia, also known to all as “Virgie”, applied for a jewelry position with C.M. Yater Jewelers in downtown Dallas where she learned her trade. Virgie’s jewelry career blossomed and eventually Virgie and Roy started their jewelry design and manufacturing company in Arlington, Texas.  She continued to work with her creations up until her death.

Virgie was a devoted sports mother to her sons. You would see her cheering for her sons at basketball gyms throughout Texas to the wrestling mats in Oklahoma to the YMCA football and baseball fields in Dallas to the Little League baseball fields in Farmers Branch and of course, at the football field at R.L. Turner Stadium.  Not only was she a spectator, but she also made a difference in the lives of many young girls by volunteering to coach these young girls in softball. Even until the end she cheered her grandnieces and grandnephews on to victory in their sporting endeavors. Virginia Carrillo Morales was the ultimate loving wife, mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, colleague, friend and business woman who will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Rogelio Morales, Sr.; her three sons, Rogelio Morales, Jr. of Houston, Texas, Dan Morales of Ft. Worth, Texas, Paul Morales of Dallas, Texas; her niece, Lydia Urias Mueller; and her nephew, Fred Urias, both of who were like children to her; brothers, Morris Carrillo, Jr.,  Frances Carrillo, Sally Carrillo Chavez, Peter Carrillo; her grandchildren, Roy Morales III, Daniel Morales, Chantel Morales Cardona and Michael Morales; three great grandchildren Joseph and Jude Cardona, Hunter Morales; and grandniece, Madison Mueller, who was like a granddaughter to her; and many beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

I met Virginia 36 years ago through my mother as she designed our wedding rings...and even helped get our wedding cake made! I cannot even count the number of jewelry items that she designed for our family...mother, grandmother, siblings, friends and me! We will all miss her warm hugs and smile when we enter Diamonds & Design.

May these and other memories help sustain the Morales and Carrillo families over the days to come. Prayers to all.

Dan and all the Morales family, The sadness I feel having just learned of Virgina's sudden death is overwhelming. My husband Mark and I have known Virginia over 47 years with her having first made my engagement ring, wedding ring and Mark's wedding ring while she was working for Mr. Yater. Not only has she continued to make many memorable pieces of jewelry for us, but she has become a treasured friend.
Please accept my condolences and know that she has left a large hole in our hearts. Thinking of all of you during this time.

Aunt Virgie, was kind to me and always greeted me with love. She made my wife's engagement and wedding ring. She was such a kind soul and the world will miss her.
