Obituary of Kinney, Audrey Lillian (Wilcox)

Audrey Lillian Kinney of McKinney, Texas passed away Friday, November 25, 2016 at the age of 83. She was born March 22, 1933 to her late parents Boyd Wilcox and Alice (Miller) Wilcox. Audrey attended Our Lady of Mercy High School in Rochester, New York where she met dear, life-long friends and graduated in 1951. On June 28, 1952 she married her high school sweetheart, John Gerard Kinney at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rochester, New York. Audrey was a proud wife, mother and grandmother. She was excited to hear of her family’s activities and ambitions and was affectionately known as “Silly Grammy”.  Audrey was well known for her sharp sense of humor, enormous heart, and an irrepressible zest for life.  As a polished and welcoming hostess she enjoyed entertaining family and friends in Webster, New York, Richardson and McKinney Texas. Her enjoyment came from reading, gardening, crossword puzzles, water aerobics, volunteer work and traveling. Audrey is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, John; her children, Colleen Feil (Barry), Jay Kinney, Janie Lindeman (Scott Hildebrand), Brian Kinney and Terrie Riggs (John), eight grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by Kim E. Kinney, beloved wife of her son, Brian Kinney. Her family, friends and everyone who was fortunate enough to know Audrey will miss her. We will carry Audrey in our hearts forever. A remembrance mass will be held December 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 411 Paula Road, McKinney, Texas 75069. Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
