Norton, Denise Ann (Gregor)

Denise Ann Norton of Carrollton, Texas passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at the age of 58..

She was born on December 7, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois to Dorothy Ruth (Hammer) and Melvin John Gregor.   Denise enjoyed being a teacher because it gave her the opportunity to teach and help children.

Denise is preceded in death by her parents; and nephew, Justin Michael Gregor.  She is survived by the love of her life, Jerry Don Norton, Jr.; daughter, Holly Anne Norton; son, Zachary Alan Norton; brothers, Glen Michael, Scott Patrick, Christopher Paul, Kevin Robert and Stuart John Gregor; nephews, Brandon Scott, Wesley John and Dalton Gregor; in laws, Shirley and Jerry Don Norton, Sr.; and Snoopy.

Being a wife and mother was a great joy for Denise and she dedicated herself to her family. She taught her children right from wrong from a very young age and made sure they never forgot it. Some of Denise’s pastime fun included watching Mike & Molly, singing to the radio, listening to Christmas music and working with children by being a teacher to them. She also loved cooking and her special dishes were cranberry sauce, spaghetti and chicken soup.

Every year Denise has attended Christmas Mass at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church.  The church is very special to Denise because her parents helped build Mary Immaculate Catholic Church.

The Norton family will be receiving visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, with a rosary at 7:30 pm, on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 in the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234.

Mass will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 2800 Valwood Parkway, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234.

As my daughter Michelle said below, Denise has been a long time family friend. Although we didn't get to visit often, when we did get together we would talk for hours. When she would come by with Holly and Zachary I always noticed they were the most well-behaved children. That shows how dedicated to being great parents Jerry and Denise are. It's a blessing to have had Denise in my life and all the similarities we shared. God bless you Denise, Jerry, Holly and Zachary.

Denise Norton was my co-teacher in Prekindergarten at Gabe Allen for the last five years. She was such a sweetheart to all people and I am so sad for her family. The best co-teacher I have ever worked with in my twenty three years of teaching. I will see her in the resurrection some day and give her a big hug. God bless her husband and children.

Denise, Jerry, Holly and Zach are our next door neighbors. Denise is a great friend and we will miss her smiling face and warm friendship. There was never any doubt Denise was always there for her family and was always enjoyable visiting with her. We are just a few steps away anytime we can help. Bill & Connie

To know Denise was to love her. She was one of the best people we've ever known, and we were honored to be her friends. She and Jerry raised two amazing kids. Holly and Zach were her greatest joy, and she was so proud of them. We are so sorry she had to leave us so soon, but she will always be with us in our memories and hearts. Our love & condolences to her family. Godspeed, sweet Denise.

Denise was a lifelong friend of the family, & a very dear friend to my mother. She was a happy, cheerful & sweet lady. She led a good example of a faithful Catholic woman. She was a wonderful role model, & had a positive outlook on life. You couldn't help but feel the warmth & love while in her presence. It was always a joy to visit her, & something I would look forward too. She will be greatly missed.
