“I highly recommend this funeral home and crematorium; when I had to make and pay for my brother’s arrangements across state lines, Evelyn Montonya, in particular, demonstrated both compassion and professionalism and made a very sad and difficult situation much easier. Many thanks.”

Obituary of
Brolliar, Bonnie (Nottingham)
Bonnie Day (Nottingham) Brolliar, 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 3, 2016 from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd “Sonny” Brolliar (2014); and her son, Bill (2014). She is survived by children, Susan Etheridge and husband Jimmy, Pam Dougherty, Rob Dougherty and wife, Sharon, Tim Dougherty and wife, Roxane; daughter-in-law, Theresa;15 grandchildren, Stephani, Alex, Catherine, Jamie, Marti, Nathan, Erin, William, Brandon, Bryan, Ansley, McKenna, Eva, Devon and Christi; and 15 great grandchildren, all will remember her with love. Born Ola Yvonne “Toodles” Nottingham on December 26, 1926, Bonnie began life in a farmhouse near the tiny town of Seymour, Texas. Only three weeks later, the entire town was flooded and the family moved east to Dallas, eventually settling in Oak Cliff. After graduating from Adamson High School in 1944, Bonnie ran away from home (not for the first time), joined a vocal trio called The Jivin’ Jills, and toured the country with the USO during WWII. She then spent years as a singer with touring orchestras and in nightclubs, before giving up the entertainment business to raise her five children. She had a busy and eclectic working career, but was happiest in the event planning business, including her own company, Meetings and Travel by Day, which took her and husband, Sonny, on many domestic and overseas travels. She founded and ran the American Aesthetician’s Educational Association for five years before retiring. Bonnie’s beloved church home was Nor’kirk Presbyterian Church in Carrollton, where she sang in the choir and volunteered in the church office. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 10, 2016 at First United Methodist Church, 100 Church Street, Colleyville, Texas 76034. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Dallas. Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
