Obituary of Lewis, Opal Jewel (Alexander)

Opal Jewel (Alexander) Lewis of Dallas, Texas passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at the age of 57.  She was born on March 24, 1959 to Erma Jean (Alexander) Washington and Odis D. Mays. She was raised by Erma and Jim Wesley Washington Sr.  Opal graduated from Normangee High School in May 1978. She was strong in her faith in God and was a member of The Potters House of Dallas, Texas. Opal met James O. Lewis in first grade and they were married July 5, 1997. They celebrated 19 years of marriage.  They had one daughter, Lakishia (Alexander) McDonald in December 1977. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, James; daughter, Lakishia; grandson, Christopher McDonald; father, Odis; brothers, Ray Alexander, Jim Washington, (Tina) and Sylvester Washington, (Ernesta); sisters, Shirley Alexander, Patricia Mays, Lillie Washington and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Celebration of Life will be from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Sunday, December 18, 2016 in the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234.
