Obituary of Kerr, Norma Jean "Jeannie" Tucker

Norma Jean "Jeannie" Tucker KerrĀ died on Friday,Ā January 27, 2017.Ā  Jeannie was born on September 29, 1929 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Jeannie attended Gulf Park College in Gulfport, Mississippi and graduated from Louisiana State University where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority. She attended Tobe Coburn School of Fashion Merchandising in New York City before working in the training department of Neiman Marcus. Jeannie enjoyed working as a tour guide for Kaleidoscope Tours and as a sales assistant at the Dallas Apparel Market. She was an accomplished soprano and sang many years in the choir at the First Presbyterian Church in Dallas. Jeannie was a member of the Northwood Club, Dallas Woman's Club, Marianne Scruggs Garden Club, Heritage Club, and Salvation Army Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, David J. Kerr; daughters, Karen Kerr and Diane Roemer; and grandson, Tucker Roemer. Memorial Service on February 4, 2017 at 10:30 am in the chapelĀ of First Presbyterian Church 1835 Young Street, Dallas, Texas 75201. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials to The Stewpot, 408 Park Avenue, Dallas, TexasĀ 75201; thestewpot.orgĀ  or a charity of your choice.
