Obituary of Daniels, Edwin R.

Edwin R. Daniels was born October 27, 1927 in Corsicana, Texas. Graduated Texas A&M Class of 1948. Married Lyra Brin of Dallas in 1949. Served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict and moved to Dallas in 1956. Became a life insurance agent with Southwestern Life. He obtained his professional designations of Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant. He also received a Masters Degree in Financial Services. Elected President of Dallas Association of Life Underwriters in 1969 and later received their Life Underwriter of the Year and Hall of Fame Awards. He and Lyra have one son, Mark, and one daughter, Donna who is married to Byron Rubin, and they have two grandchildren, Dr. Lisa & Richard Hartman and Dr. Lisa & Eric Rubin, and two great grandchildren, Lucy & Leah Hartman. A Memorial Service will be held at Temple Emanu-El on Sunday, February 12 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of food or flowers, a contribution would be appreciated to the Eric Rubin Professorship in Electrical Engineering, c/o Texas A&M Foundation, 401 George Bush Drive, College Station, TX 77840, or to a scholarship fund at the university of your choice. Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
