Obituary of Taylor, Barbara Chapman

Barbara Chapman Taylor went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 passing away suddenly and unexpectedly. Reunited with her husband and father of her 7 children, Albert, who was called home in 1981, and her beloved husband Joy, who passed away in 2000, Barbara also joins her dearly departed sons John and Mike. She leaves behind sons, Glen of Allen, Texas and Joe of Highland Village, Texas, and daughters, Sandy Price of Lakeway, Texas, Janet Barbosa of Carrollton, Texas, and Jacqueline Mudge of Gem Lake, Minnesota and their spouses. Barbara also had the pleasure of sharing her love with 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, all whom she loved dearly. Barbara has been an active and vibrant resident at Lakeview Senior Living in Carrollton, Texas for the past 5 years where she met many dear friends. Born on June 26, 1928 in Elizabeth, Louisiana, Barbara was the belle of the ball, the queen of the dance floor and the apple of every gentleman's eye.  Barbara was one of four siblings and is survived by her youngest sister Katherine Mashouf of Scottsdale, Arizona.  She attended Tyler Junior College and earned a bookkeeping degree which she put to good use over a long career including family owned Southwestern Cast Stone and Carrollton Farmers Branch ISD while raising her children. Barbara’s vibrant life centered on her strong faith, beloved family and friends, passion for travel, and long commitment to volunteer work. She was a devoted member of Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Farmers Branch, Texas for over 50 years.  She was a volunteer and past president with St. Paul’s Lady Auxiliary and the Farmers Branch Senior Center.  Her travels have taken her all over the world including some memorable trips to Europe and Alaska. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to Mary Immaculate Catholic Church c/o  “Catholic Daughters” in Barbara’s name. There will be a rosary at 9:00 am on Monday, April 10, 2017 at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 2800 Valwood Parkway, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234. Mass of Christian Burial will begin following the rosary at 10:00 am at the church. There will be a procession to Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, Texas 75220 where the interment will be at 12:30 pm. Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.

Sandy, Glen, Joe, Janet and Jackie…like so many others, we were stunned and saddened beyond description to hear of your mother’s passing. Such a beautiful soul. And such a wonderful mother and role model to you all — she was surely proud of you all. Please know that we have been thinking about you ever since hearing, and hope that al the love being directed your way by so many friends and family might relieve you of even just a bit of your pain.

  12. Jeanine Quintero says:

So sad to hear about the loss of Aunt Bobbie. She was a very special lady, a very warm and welcoming soul. She was able to make me feel like to most important person in a crowded room always making time to visit and chat. The last time I saw her was 2010 when I came to Dallas with my daughter for college visits. She made time for us twice that week. It was a very good visit. I will miss her but am sure she is so happy to be home!

  14. Janie says:

Please except my deepest condolences. Even though I did not know Barbara, I know what it feels like to lose a loved one. I do have a hope of seeing my loved one again. I want to share that hope. At John 5:28,29 it says there is a real hope of being reunited with our dead loved ones. Take a minute and read that scripture and really think about it. God is eager to bring back those in his memory. I hope this information helps you as it did me! Sincerely, Janie
