Obituary of LaSacco, Philip John

Philip John LaSacco, 75, of Houston, Texas, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at PrestonwoodĀ  Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Plano, Texas following complications from a stroke. Philip was born in Manhattan, New York on June 18, 1941 and eventually settled along with his family in the Houston, Texas area.Ā  He served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967, during which time he was stationed in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.Ā  He spent many years working alongside his step-father and sisters in the family business, Sun Builders Company. Philip had a kind heart and a genuine interest in others. He volunteered for many years as a Committee Member with the Houston Rodeo and did charity work for Muscular Dystrophy. He loved animals and took in many stray dogs over his lifetime that become cherished family pets. Sociable and quick witted, he never met a stranger; be it someone sharing a ride on an elevator or a homeless veteran in need. Even while living at the nursing home and having lost his ability to speak, the nurses and aides were drawn to him; his personality and appreciation showing through his facial expressions and a wink. Philip is survived by his wife of 25 years, B. J. Brubaker; step-father Philip (and Marina) Aiello; sisters, Anne Raney, Gigi (and Randy) Thompson, Mary (and Alan) Miller, and Judy Aiello; step daughters, Kelli (and Alex) Castro and Kaci (and Eddie) Castro; as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.Ā  He is preceded in death by his mother Mary LaSacco Aiello. His remains will be inurned at the Houston National Cemetery during a private service. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life gathering on Saturday, May 13, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm Hearthstone Country Club, 7615 Ameswood Road, Houston, Texas 77095. Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
