Obituary of Contreras, Luisa Ortiz (Concepcion)

Luisa Oritz (Concepcion) Contreras of Carrollton, Texas passed away on Friday, October 20, 2017 at the age of 105 years young. Concepción Contreras nació el 7 de noviembre de 1911 en Concepción del Oro,  Zacatecas, México.  Era la quinta de siete hijos, de los cuales era la única sobreviviente. Conoció a Manuel Ortiz durante la Guerra de Los Cristeros, y se casaron en secreto c. 1930, ya que los sacerdotes no podían celebrar en las iglesias. Era muy servidora, siempre ofreciéndoles de comer a las visitas.  Deja atrás 5 hijos vivos, 22 nietos, 47 bis nietos y 14 tatara nietos. Conception Contreras was born November 7, 1911 in Concepción del Oro,  Zacatecas, México. She was the fifth of seven children, of which she was the longest living. She met Manuel Ortiz during the Cristero Rebellion, and they wed in secret c. 1930, since priests could not celebrate in churches. She was very helpful, always offering visitors something to eat.  She leaves behind 5 living children, 22 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 from 3:00 to 8:00 pm in the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 10:00 am at Juan San Diego Catholic Church, 10919 Royal Haven Lane, Dallas, Texas 75229. Interment will follow the service at Calvary Hill Memorial Park,  3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, Texas 75220. Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
