Martin, Mary Anna

Mary Anna Martin passed away on January 17, 2019 in Carrollton, Texas at the age of 75.  She was born in Seminole, Texas on October 21, 1943.  Mary was a member of The Nor’Kirk Presbyterian Church in Carrollton. While her children were young in Mesquite, Texas, Mary volunteered as a soccer coach for the Rockets Soccer Club, Cub Scout Den Mother for Troop 93, and Girl Scout Leader for Troop 443.  She volunteered for the Garland Humane SPCA in the 1980’s. Mary cooked in CASI Chili Cookoffs with her family in 2001 and 2002 and even earned an invitation to compete in the CASI Terlingua International Chili Championship.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Martin; father, Arris Pipkin; mother, Una Bryant; brothers, Ray Pipkin and Billy Pipkin; sister, Reba Pipkin; and nephew, Shea Pipkin.  She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Glinda Pipkin of Terrell, Texas; her sister-in-law, Harriett Pipkin of Lubbock, Texas; her son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Leila Martin of Rowlett, Texas, and daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Josef “Bubba” Maca of Carrollton, Texas; two grandchildren, Anja and Jiri Maca, 6 nieces, 2 nephews, 11 great nieces, 13 great nephews, and 2 great-great nieces.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 24, 2019 in the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234.   A memorial will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at The Nor’Kirk Presbyterian, Carrollton, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to The Nor’Kirk Presbyterian Building Fund.
