Sullivan, Charles Patrick

Charles “Charlie” Patrick Sullivan, 71, long-time resident of Bedford, Texas, passed away peacefully early in the morning on Thursday, April 4, 2019 after a long battle with leukemia. He was surrounded by close friends and family.

Charlie was born January 28, 1948 to parents Ruth and John Sullivan in New York City. The family, along with his 2 brother and 3 sisters resettled in New Jersey where Charlie graduated from William L. Dickenson High School. He joined the Air Force in 1968 and served as a communications technician. He was later stationed in England where he met the love of his life, Ann Constantinou. They had two boys, Jason and Anthony. He was later stationed in Texas and settled there with his family after an honorable discharge. He attended Dallas Baptist University and graduated with a degree in business.

Charlie was an active member of Saint John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church in Euless, Texas where he was a convert to the faith. He served on the parish council and, along with his wife, was a member of the senior fellowship, also known as The Ageless Wonders.

Charlie loved to entertain and make people laugh. He especially liked music, movies, and a really good joke. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with friends and family, which included his wife, sons, grand children, a brother and two sisters. He brought great joy to all who knew him.  He will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Sullivan; sons, Jason Sullivan and Anthony Sullivan; grandchildren, Ami Hickman, Nick Sullivan, Arianna Nau, Austin Colgrove, and Chloe Sullivan; brother, John Sullivan; sisters Peggy Decker and Barbara Jerue; daughters-in-law, Fawn Sullivan and Kristyna Sullivan; brothers-in-law, Rod Decker and Dave Jerue; and sister-in-law, Carole Sullivan.

Dear Charlie, You will be so missed, by me and my whole family in England. You were such a nice patient, friendly and encouraging person. I will always think of you when I see a 72 Z28 and remember the time you gave me an air pistol and a box of pellets, and told me to shoot what I liked out of a window! Goodnight, Charlie, much love.

Charlie, I went out tonight on this date and found out from a Church Friend about you leaving to be with The Lord. I'm still in total shock. Matthew 5:4 New King James Version (NKJV)
4 Blessed are those who mourn,
For they shall be comforted.
Uncle Charlie was always here for me. He really was more of a father to me, and that’s how I loved him, like a Father. When I needed someone to walk me down the aisle at my wedding, I called on Uncle Charlie. When I needed a Godfather to baptize my children, called Uncle Charlie. When I needed some good advice, with a laugh attached, I asked Uncle Charlie. No matter how important or trivial the task I had for him, I always knew I could count on my Uncle Charlie. Now, I know I was not the only one who felt this way. This was at the core of who my dear Uncle Charlie was. He was family to everyone and we all knew we could count on him. I am not sure who I will call on now Uncle Charlie but, there will never be another like you. You will forever hold a special place in my heart and you will forever be missed. I l will love you for all eternity my dear Uncle Charlie. Rest in peace

All my love, prayers, and deepest condolences to Annie, Jason, and Anthony XO♥

Anni, you and Charlie and the boys and their families mean the world to us. There are no words to express what we feel at this time of grief. May his memory be everlasting and may the Jason and Anthony thread on his footsteps and keep up their Dad's legacy. We love you all like our family. You have been our family away from home since 1979 when we met you and Charlie and Jason. Charlie will be greatly missed. He was a great guy and mentor to our sons. Love Renate, Manfred, Michael, Manfred Jr., Ashley and Baby Lukas and Austin. Charlie, now you can give Robert Hell why he left us way too early. Aufwiedersehen till we all meet again.

Uncle Charlie welcomes me into the family when I married chris in 1992. In my wedding video Uncle Charlie said Marijean you take care of my boy you here He always made me feel welcomed and loved. When my mom passed he called and talked to me to give me encouragement. He is like a second father to my husband and one of the acknowledged heads of the very large family that I married into. I am blessed to have known and loved him. I remember all the times we had together here in California and Vegas. He was such a fun and loving person. The world is a sadder place without the light he brought into it. I love him and will miss him the rest of my life. God has him know and there will be no more suffering and only love and joy for him forever.
