Gardner, Kenneth Norman

Kenneth Norman Gardner was born on January 9, 1962 in Dallas, Texas and passed away May 2, 2019 in Arlington, Texas at the age of 57.

Kenny worked in the fire protection industry for most of his adult life.  He and his brother, Jimmy, spent many years working together installing fire sprinklers and spreading their unique compassion and humor wherever they went.

Kenny loved his mama, his family and NASCAR racing, in that order.  He was a loving dad, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and grandpa.  He cared deeply for others and has left an everlasting impact on lots of people because Kenny was a people person.  He loved to kid around or just have something funny to say.  It seemed that he would always leave people either laughing or with a smile on their faces.  One of his sayings was, “It is what it is.”

He was preceded in death by his stepfathers, Jim Davis and Homer Bone; his father, James Alexander Gardner, Sr.; his grandparents, Norman Arnold and Mildred Arnold; his step brother, Robert Lynn Bone; and his nephew, Kyle Alexander Gardner.

Kenny is survived by his son, Brian Gardner; his mother, Joan Davis; his brother, Jimmy Gardner with wife, Cindy; his sister, Donna Arnwine with partner, Wes Potts; step sister, Trisha Foley with husband, Bob; step sister, Lonna Dean, his wife, Tabitha; his step daughter, Destiny with grandchildren Scarlett and Aiden; together with nieces, Summer Moseley and family, and Christy Waldie and family; as well as many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 9, 2019, in the Brooks Family Chapel at North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Dallas, Texas 75234.  A reception in celebration of Kenny’s life will be held at 14362 Valley Hi Circle, Dallas, Texas 75234 following the memorial service.

The family has requested that bright, cheery clothing be worn to the memorial service in celebration of Kenny Gardner’s life since he was a bright and cheery light in everyone’s lives.

Extremely saddened to hear about our dear friend, Kenny. I've known him since I was a teen and my dad, Steve treated him like a little bro, so he was FAMILY to US and will be greatly missed. Praying for you all and trusting in God that he will make all things right according to His Will. Sent with sincere love - The Dempsey Family
