Obituary of
Dworkin, Bernie
Bernie Dworkin, 86, passed away peacefully Saturday morning of natural causes. Bernie was born to parents Sol Dworkin and Lena (Rovinsky) Schwimer. Bernie was a 3rd generation Texan who loved to tell stories of his Fort Worth childhood during the heydays of the stockyards. An entrepreneur, he was an industrial auctioneer, scrap dealer, and equipment appraiser. A Korean War Navy veteran, Bernie was a proud member of the Jewish War Veterans organization. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Rosalind Goldstein Dworkin, and his sister, Marlene Yesnick of Chicago, IL. Bernie is mourned by his sons Elliot and his wife, Perri Ruben Dworkin, of San Antonio, Sol “Rusty" and his wife, Leslie Green Dworkin, and grandchildren, Jennifer Adele, Samuel Ethan Green, and Blake Anthony and good friend Pauline Helfand, who gave him much joy. Bernie will be laid to rest on Tuesday, November 26 at 11:15 am at Tiferet Israel cemetary. Rabbi Zell of Congregation Tiferet Israel conducting.
