“I highly recommend this funeral home and crematorium; when I had to make and pay for my brother’s arrangements across state lines, Evelyn Montonya, in particular, demonstrated both compassion and professionalism and made a very sad and difficult situation much easier. Many thanks.”

Obituary of
Hail, Caroline E.
Caroline E. Hail was born on September 1, 1926 to Irving and Violet Peek in Kansas City, Missouri. She was called home on December 10, 2019 from Denton, Texas. She was 93 years old. Preceded in death by both parents, her husband Cecil W. Hail, sister Ruthie VanGilder brother Earl Peek, her two children Randy Bill Hail and Deborah Lynn Harrison, and grandson, Shaun Sullivan. She is survived by two sisters, Doretta Calandrino of Merriam, KS and Madgie Messer of Richmond, VA, four children, John Hail of Garland, Texas, Beverly Diane Tatum (Charles) of Aubrey, Texas, Christopher Hail of Aubrey, Texas and Steven Hail (Jeanne Hunnicutt) of Lewisville, Texas. She is survived by five grandchildren, Robert Harrison (Carrie), Tonya Robinson (Zane), Richard Harrison all of Houston, Texas, Randy Sullivan (Lindsay) Prosper, Texas, and Alexis Hail-Hammond (Carter) of Dallas, Texas. She is survived by seven great-grandchildren, Colby Harrison, Emily Harrison, Kaitlyn Conners, Lindsey Fast, William Fast all of Houston, Texas and Brynlee Sullivan and Deegan Sullivan of Prosper, Texas. First and foremost, Caroline loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a member of Valwood Park Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and extremely dedicated to her family. She met the love of her life, Cecil Hail, by first becoming his pen-pal while he was stationed on a Navy ship during WW2 and she worked as an operator at the telephone company. The two exchanged letters for months and when Cecil came home on leave, he went to meet Caroline before going home to see his parents and the rest was history. They were married just shy of 62 years when he passed of cancer in 2008. Caroline enjoyed spending her mornings next to her husband working the daily crossword puzzle together. She never missed an opportunity to let people know how much she loved them. She spent hours at a time sharing stories and giving wise words of wisdom to everyone who sat around her dining room table. In true grandmother fashion, she always made sure her visitors were full of lots of yummy treats and it was because of Caroline that her children and grandchildren inherited a quick-witted sense of humor that is lovingly referred to as “the Hail humor” in the family. Funeral Services: The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, December 17th from 4:00 - 8:00 pm in the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234. Caroline’s celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, December 18th at 2:00 pm at Valwood Park Baptist Church, 2727 Valwood Pkwy, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234. Graveside services will be held Thursday, December 19th at Llano Cemetery in Amarillo, Texas.
