Obituary of Mitcham, Thomas Alan

After a courageous battle with cancer, Thomas Alan Mitcham passed away at the age of 61 in Lewisville, Texas on December 12, 2019. He was born on September 28, 1958, in Beaumont, Texas. Tommy is survived by Ann, his loving wife of 40 years, his daughter Jamie Longbotham, his mother Dona Danforth and stepmother Gayle Mitcham. He is also survived by his brothers David and Mike Mitcham, stepsister Amy McKinley, and many loving family members. He is reunited in Heaven with his son Thomas Mitcham, his dad Claude Mitcham, his mother and father-in-law Fern and Richard Ovenden, and his nephew Kyle Peters, among others. Above all, Tommy was a devoted father, family man, and a great friend. He was an avid outdoorsman and handyman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, grilling, and woodworking (all while listening to Texas country music). For more than 30 years, he worked in sales for Central Hardwoods in Dallas. A Celebration of Tommy’s Life will be held on Wednesday, December 18 at 1:00 p.m. at Bent Tree Bible Fellowship in Carrollton, Texas. A reception at the church will follow. Donations in honor of his life may be made to the charities in which you support. Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.

Ann, Please accept our deepest condolences. Tommy was much too young for this. Like Allen before him, he put up a good fight against cancer. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family during this difficult time. Heartfelt, Josh and Dawn Danforth
