Obituary of Porter, Sally Bee Coulson

Sally Bee Coulson Porter of Dallas, Texas passed away on Monday, February 17, 2020 at the age of 83. Sally is survived by her two daughters, Melissa Anne Davis Martin of Dallas, (her Husband Bill and two sons, Ben and Jon plus one granddaughter) and Melinda Louise Davis Moore of Lubbock (her Husband Mike and a daughter, Laura and son Randy and two granddaughters) and several nieces and nephews.  She spent the last 8 years in the company of her “Sweetie” Lucky Larry Amyett in Dallas, Texas.  They were devoted to each other and rarely did you ever see one without the other. Sally enjoyed a life of travel with both her father, Fred Coulson jr. and first husband, Glenn Davis were in the Army.  As a child she had adventures in Denver, New York, Kansas, Japan and she graduated from Heidelberg High School, Germany.  She enjoyed singing and acting and was very active in Little Theater in Heidelberg, taking on leading roles in play as well as painting sets, directing and many other thespian roles. As an adult she was able to live in Thailand with her young family for three years before coming back to San Antonio (for a second time) and becoming active in charitable organizations. Sally enjoyed many different occupations through out her life including Manager of a Dairy Queen in Mercedes, Texas, auditing a maximum security prison in Tennessee and working with early computer systems as a key punch operator.  She was very social and enjoyed dancing her entire life.  She also was on several bowling teams. As Sally slowed down (just a bit) she starting collecting teddy bears and gave them to the local Fire Stations for Firemen to give out to children in distress.  She loved dogs (her friend’s “puppies”) and watching wildlife, especially squirrels, from any window she came close to. Sally and her “hugs” will be greatly missed by all who knew her, especially Lucky, her favorite beau. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 1:00 pm in the Library of the High Dale Apartments, 11851 High Dale Dr, Dallas, TX 75234. Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
