Dan was always Danny to me until he became a grown man and then I started calling him Dan. I was 13 months old when my precious nephew was born and as a result, we were as close as brother and sister for 75 plus years. He meant so much to me and we spent hours each night talking on the phone or chatting on Facebook. I could always go to him for comfort and I hope that I was able to provide that for him during his long illness. I will surely miss him, but I know we will be together again someday. So, I will say what I always said to him each night. Love you!

I will always remember Mr. Allison as an intelligent man, a good man and a fine neighbor. Mr. Allison was always happy to share his memories of his life’s journey, his views and opinions, or simply spend hours talking away about nothing in particular. One of my most enduring memories of Mr. Allison will always be how he added my oldest daughter’s birthday to his list of holidays to celebrate with fireworks and he did so, without fail, every year until she left home.
Having visited with Mr. Allison a couple days before his passing, I know that he was ready for the end to the closing chapter of his life and was welcoming of the end of the suffering that he had endured throughout the final years of it.

Mr. Allison, the period has been added to the final sentence. Rest in peace, sir!
