Obituary of Brown, Freddy L.

Freddy L. Brown of Big Spring, Texas passed into his next journey on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at the age of 79. Freddy was born to parents Juanita Gibbs and Robert L Brown on March 27, 1941 in Knott, Texas. He graduated Big Spring high school in 1959 and enlisted in the Navy in 1960 and moved up the ranks to achieve Navy SEAL stationed in Guam. In 1962, while on leave he met a special lady and upon returning to Guam they began a pen pal courtship, Freddy would later ask his sweetheart to marry him through the mail, she accepted and in October 1964 they were married. Freddy and Judy welcomed a son Brian Brown in 1974 and went on to enjoy 52 wonderful years of marriage. Freddy was a devoted husband, father, and an avid hunter and proud Navy SEAL. Freddy enjoyed his annual hunting trips and traveling with his family. Most days you could find Freddy at Franklin and sons (former Goodyear Tire) greeting the community with a smiling face, he did that for 53 years. He never retired. Freddy is survived by his sons, Brian Brown and husband Kim Seese of Dallas Texas, Sean Brown and husband John Doyle of Portland Oregon, and one sister Deborah L Caffey and husband Steve Caffey of Hobbs New Mexico. Freddy is preceded in death by his wife Judy Brown, mother Juanita Gibbs Heflin and father Robert L Brown. We will honor the life of Freddy Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Trinity Memorial cemetery at 2 PM in the open air chapel. Flowers, donations and condolences may be offered at 2508 Allendale Rd. Big Spring, Texas. Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.

Freddy wss a sweet man.Pre COVID I would see him often having lunch at our Hospital Cafe. More recently, I visited his home after a friend and neighbor saw him pulled over in a random location. We made sure he made it home, was going to eat his 2 cheese conies from Sonic and assured he was drinking water. It was a really hot day. Freddy went on to show and tell us about his hobbies and collections. He had such an interesting life, I wish we could have known him better. My heart goes out to you. I extend condolences as well from his Scenis Mtn Med Cntr family as well.
