Wood, Michael Perry


Michael Perry Wood, 75, of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 21, 2020 after a long battle with cancer.

He was born in Dallas, Texas to Margaret and Charles C Wood on April 29, 1945.  He graduated from Texas A&M Commerce, Texas. He owned his Food Brokerage Company for over 40 years, before retiring in 2007.  He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the Navy aboard USS Croaker and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He was incredibly involved in the Catholic Church and he loved the beach, boating and golf.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Margaret & Charles Wood, and his sister, Carol Jean Wood Whalers.

He is survived by his children, Deborah Lynn Wood-Humbert, Michael Perry Wood II, Joseph Wood, and Jonathan Wood and his beloved sister, Leila Jo Wood Bennett.

Memorials may be given to The American Cancer Society.
