James Eldon Wallace, of Farmers Branch, Texas passed away on October 7, 2020 at the age of 82.
He was born on September 13, 1938 in Cairo, Illinois to James and Louise Wallace. After high school Jim served in the United States Air Force. He was honorably discharged in 1963 as an Airman 2nd Class. Jim and his family moved to Huntsville, Alabama where he worked for NASA in Research and Development Testing. Later Jim and his family moved again this time to Garland, Texas where he worked for Parkland Hospital where he stayed for 30 years as Biomedical Equipment Supervisor. He was elected to major offices in two major organizations concerned with the advancement of his field. He was elected Vice President of the Society of Biomedical Equipment Technicians and received their President’s Service Award. He was also elected to the Board of Directors of the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation.
In 1988, Jim married his wife Sandra, they were married for 32 years and lived in Farmers Branch, Texas.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Peggy; their children, Gail, Debbie and Scott Wallace, his brother, John “Eddie” Wallace; and granddaughter, Christine Pruitt.
Jim is survived by his wife, Sandra; his son Chris Wallace; 3 grandchildren Michael Pruitt. Daniel Pruitt and his wife Renee and Justin O’Neill; great grandchild , Aaron Pruitt; sister and brother-in-law Linda and Stephen Newell; niece, Angela Newell and nephew, Jeffery Newell and his wife Samantha; sister-in-law Joann Wallace; daughter-in-law Sandy Wallace; step-daughter, Kelley Thurman and her husband, Kelly and step-son Doug Thurman and his wife, Julie.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 19, 2020 at 11:00 am in the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234, followed by a graveside service at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.
