Garcia, Yolanda Arguello
Yolanda Arguello Garcia passed away peacefully at the age of 75 on Wednesday, November 18, 2020. She was a beloved wife to Victor Garcia, and mother to Gabriella and Victor Jr. She was a devoted grandmother to her grandchildren, Jillian Garcia, Vivien and Miles Kosley, all whom she loved dearly. Each one claimed her as their “favorite Wita.”
Yolanda was born in Guadalajara, Mexico to Catalina and Florentino Arguello. While in San Antonio, she met her future husband, Victor. They were married 57 years ago on February 1, 1963, in San Antonio, Texas.
Yolanda was a devoted homemaker, mother and wife. She traveled and lived all over the world (Okinawa, Nuremburg, Munich, Germany, and Italy) in support of Victor’s career with the Army & Air Force Exchange Service and saw places she dreamt of as a young girl. Aside from traveling, her hobbies included playing tennis, bowling, swimming, sewing, gardening, and cooking, she also enjoyed reading books; she had a library of all the books she had read. You could always find Yolie in the kitchen, her favorite place in the house. She showed her love and care through her wonderful, savory dishes (including Japanese cooking on a wok), and birthday cakes, which she always insisted on baking (which she learned in Okinawa). She was a very special person to her family and will be dearly missed by all.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 4, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234.
