Obituary of Satterwhite, Kenneth Wilson

Kenneth Wilson Satterwhite was born December 6, 1939, to Woodrow Wilson Satterwhite and Elsie Ora Fowler Satterwhite in San Antonio, TX. He passed from death to life on November 30, 2020, at Mansfield Methodist Hospital in Mansfield, TX. The family returned to Damascus, AR, when he was three. His childhood years were spent exploring the outdoors collecting arrowheads, fishing, hunting, and camping with his cousins and faithful dog, Laddie. Kenneth was an avid hunter and fisherman, a storyteller, amateur astronomer, collector of antiques, seeker of truth, and in 1982 gave his life to Jesus Christ and was never the same again.  He was brought out of the darkness of alcoholism into Christ’s marvelous light.  The change in his life and his love for the Lord was evident to everyone.  Sharing and ministering the simplicity of the Gospel of Jesus Christ was his mission. Drafted into the US Army in 1963 during the Viet Nam War, he was stationed stateside at Fort Snelling, MN, where he met “My Donnie”.  Kenneth and Donita Conkling were united in marriage on April 4, 1967, in Damascus, AR. To this union were born three daughters, Tara (Jody) Pannell of Lawrenceville, GA, Tina Bartley of Houston, TX, and Aimee (Larry) Cross of Arlington, TX.  Five grandchildren, Jessica, Caitlin, Maddie, Claire, and Matthew; two great granddaughters, Emma, and Chloe. Survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers Larry (Janis) Satterwhite, Mt Home, AR; Joey (Donna) Satterwhite, Jeff (Charlene) Satterwhite and Judy (Chuck) Chwalinski, all of North Little Rock, AR, and other family members. Preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow Satterwhite and Elsie Satterwhite Sams, numerous relatives, friends and his beloved dog, Maggie. Funeral arrangements Visitation Tuesday, Dec 8th 6-8 pm and Funeral Wed, Dec 9th 1 pm at Aria Funeral Home, 1820 N Beltline Rd, Irving, TX. Private family burial at DFW National Cemetery with military honors on Thurs, Dec 10th, 2020. Cards and condolences may be sent to the family at 1920 Robinson Rd, #303, Grand Prairie, TX 75051. Memorials may be designated for European Initiative (EI) or Pioneer Bible Translators. Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.

    I was so sorry to hear of Kenneth’s passing. We were best of friends growing up. After high school graduation I moved to Little Rock and did not see him again. Our prayers are with his family and friends.
