Obituary of Fullen, Clarence Franklin

Clarence Franklin Fullen of Farmers Branch, Texas passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2020 at the age of 87. Clarence, the baby of the family, was born in Hastings, Oklahoma to Isaac Aserie Fullen and Girtie Glover Fullen, both now pre-deceased. He was raised on a farm along with his five brothers and sisters, also now pre-deceased: Alice Fullen-Hallam, Jauanita Fullen, Elmer Fullen, Leslie Fullen, and Isaac Carrol Fullen. During his high school days he was an officer in the Future Farmers of America. In 1954 he left the family farm to join the Air Force. By 1955 he was posted in Japan in the 322nd Fighter interceptor Squadron where he was an aircraft maintenance technician.1957 Clarence was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. In 1958 he was honorably discharged from active duty as a Staff Sargent and later became an Air Force Reservist, retiring finally in 1962. Clarence was forever proud of his service to his country. After settling in from the service he moved to Dallas, Texas for his 2nd lifetime home, working for the Coca Cola Company. He married and had the real pride of his life, his only child, Shelly Fullen-Marshall. Clarence quickly accepted a position with Firestone Rubber Company where he spent the rest of his career until retirement. In 1969 he enlarged his family by marrying the love of his life, Melba Finney-Fullen, pre-deceased, who brought Shelly siblings: Vickie Finney-Hallam, Robin Finney, pre-deceased and Jon Finney, pre-deceased. Nothing was more important to him then his family. His grandchildren: Angela Hallam-Wilkos, Todd Hallam, Jennifer Marshall, Ryan Finney and Amber Marshall were more joy in his life. He also had 9 great grandchildren with a great, great grandchild currently on the way. He loved his niece and nephews spread all over the country. He spent most of his life caring for his parents, Melba’s parents and being the most loving family man. He loved to bowl. He and Melba loved “Garage Sailing,” they did everything together. Clarence was a tinkerer, a fixer; he loved his Cowboys. He loved learning new “tech” even though it drove him crazy! Clarence Franklin Fullen lived an honorable, kind full and beloved life. May he Rest In Peace. We miss you ... Visitation will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with Celebration of Life service beginning at 11:00 am all in the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234.  Interment will follow the services at Hastings Cemetery in Hastings, Oklahoma at 3:00 pm. Please note that Covid 19 guidelines will be observed. Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
