Obituary of
von Seutter, Armin Christopher
Armin Christopher von Seutter, 77, of Dallas, Texas, went home to Heaven on April 19, 2021. He was born to Armin von Seutter and Lorene Christopher von Seutter on December 30, 1943 in Memphis, Tennessee. Armin grew up in Starkville, Mississippi, where he graduated from Starkville High School and then from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
After using his engineering skills for a while with Georgia Power & Light, Armin took off for an adventure with Campus Crusade for Christ, which provided him with invaluable spiritual training. In 1974, he moved to Dallas, Texas. While looking for a job and working with his landlord, he discovered his true vocational calling. Armin found great joy in painting and remodeling that never waned for as long, as he lived.
At 64, he surprised everyone by finally getting married - to 50-year-old Karen Allen.
As much as Armin loved his wife, family, friends and vocation, his love for God surpassed all else. Studying scriptures, introducing others to Jesus, discipling and mentoring were his passions.
Armin was preceded in death by his parents, Armin and Lorene von Seutter; his sister, Harriet Plezia; and his brother-in-law, Thomas Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Allen von Seutter; his sister, Sally Smith; his brother-in-law, Anthony Plezia; his nephews, Edward Smith, Christopher Smith, Jonathan Smith, Timothy Foxsmith, Armin Plezia and John Plezia; his niece, Kathi Funderburk; 12 grand-nephews; 12 grand-nieces; 2 great grand-nephews; 4 great grand-nieces; his spiritual children, John & Velvet Lay and spiritual grandchildren, Michaela Lay, Jesse Lay and Kaira Lay; and a host of friends.
We know that Armin is in Heaven with his savior, Jesus Christ. Our blessed assurance is that one day , we too will join Armin and spend eternity in Heaven with Jesus.
Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
Tribute Wall of von Seutter, Armin Christopher
Armin was a groomsman in my wedding to Janice Morgan on July 4, 1971 in Tampa Florida. We had become friends while we were on the staff with Campus Crusade for Christ. I’ve often wondered what became of Armin, and I’m glad to hear that he retained his zeal for God throughout his life. Well done, bro.

I am very sorry to hear or Armin’s passing. I knew him back into mid 80s in Dallas Texas. We went to the same church and became good friends through a weekly bible study. Truely a godly man who greatly impacted my life. Will pray that God will comfort them during this time.
