Obituary of Rose, Bradley Christopher

Bradley Christopher Rose of Dallas, Texas passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at the age of 63. Brad was born in Concord, MA, to Dr. Patrick Rose and Lee Rose Tichnor, and moved to Dallas at the age of two, where he grew into a man of many talents with a very big heart. Brad was passionate about what he valued in life. He loved art and listening to music from his superb collection throughout his life, and he was quite skilled at playing the guitar. Brad was a true craftsman, from building and running sound systems for televised events, to helping others through the business he started, “HomeWorks,” which led to many lifelong friends. Feeding others, including cooking exceptional meals made with love, is another way Brad blessed family, friends, and even perfect strangers. A day at the lake fishing with hand tied lures always brought him joy. So did doing things “the right way” - something he would freely share - from driving his old pickup truck (the “land barge”) slow and easy with his dog Has Been by his side, to fixing just about anything. Brad was smart, intuitive, witty (with a deep belly laugh!), rigorously honest, compassionate, and kind. He often stated and showed his genuine love and care for others, always helping and, yet, still always asking what else he could do to help. He found the AA program in 1999 and since then lived its principles in all his affairs, selflessly carrying the message to all he could.  Brad also frequently helped the elderly and others in need, even when he did not have much himself, literally saving one of his closest friend’s life twice (at least). And he was a voracious reader, especially on subjects like spirituality, love, service, and climate change, freely sharing his favorites with others. Above all else, Brad was unwaveringly devoted to his only son, Frank, whom he loved effusively and beyond all measure. Brad was the consummate fiduciary, always striving with conviction for what was in Frank’s best interest, even over his own. He ensured that Frank always knew he was deeply loved (by Brad and others), got and would get a good education (both in and out of the classroom), and was and would be prepared to flourish in every aspect of life. Indeed, knowing he would leave this life all too soon due to a long medical battle, Brad’s dying wish was only that those closest would help Frank. We will. Brad is survived by his treasured son, Frank; brothers John and Tom (wife Karen); sister Anne Thurman (husband Randy); and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and others whose lives he made immeasurably better. A private memorial will be held on July 1, 2021, at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made for Frank’s sole benefit to the Bradley Christopher Rose Living Trust.  For details on donating, please contact Brad’s dear friend and attorney, Michael Steinmark, at michael@swclaw.com.
