Obituary of
Roberts, Suzanne "Suzie" Elaine
Suzanne “Suzie” Roberts passed away in Allen, Texas, on July 12, 2021, following a long battle with brain cancer. She will be remembered by all who were with her during her battle as a fighter, a strong and courageous woman.
Suzie was born on June 15, 1959, to Buddy Roberts and Judith (McClurg) Roberts at the U.S. Army post in Augsburg, Germany. The family returned to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Suzie resided for many years. Suzie graduated from Charles C. Mason High School in Tulsa and obtained an Associate Degree in Applied Science from Tulsa Community College. She worked in Tulsa and later in Dallas and the North Texas area as a commercial insurance broker and as a paralegal.
Suzie was an avid reader and enthusiastic about researching genealogical ancestry. She loved music and attending concerts. She was known for her quick wit and sense of humor, and for being someone who simply loved to talk and share stories. Suzie was straightforward. There was no pretension. She was intensely loyal, nurturing and devoted to family. She was strong-willed as a child; a force of nature as an adult. She displayed that same strength and bravery throughout her cancer battle.
Suzie was preceded in death by her father, her beloved grandparents, F.M. “Joe” and Helen McClurg and Vaden and Lillie Mae Roberts; beloved aunt, Ruth (McClurg) Romero; and uncle, John McClurg.
Suzie is survived by her mother, her sister, Leslie Roberts, brother-in-law, Bob Arnold, and her nephew, Will Sneddon, all of McKinney, Texas; uncle and aunt, Dr. and Mrs. Edward Roberts and cousins, Cristina Romero, Ed and Julie Roberts, Kimberly and Brett Kramer, Kristin and Will Richardson, and Dan and Nancy Roberts, all of Tulsa; Lisa and Dale Ray, of Belding, MI; and Dr. Raquel Romero and John Doshier, of Wichita, KS. She is also survived by many cousins, extended family and long-time friends.
There will be a private family gathering in Tulsa to celebrate Suzie’s life.
If you are called to offer a gift in Suzie’s honor, please make it to the American Cancer Society in Dallas at https://donate3.cancer.org/ or The Baylor Scott & White Dallas Foundation at https://dallasfoundation.bswhealth.com/ways-to-give.
Please leave condolences and share memories on this website.
