Obituary of
Wicker, Teddy Ray "Ted"
Wicker, Teddy Ray “Ted”, age 76, of Frisco, TX passed away on August 2, 2021, in San Antonio. He was born June 3, 1945, at home in McKinney, TX. A lifetime carpenter, he was most recently employed by WB General Contracting. Prior to serving his country he learned to train and break horses in Addison, Texas. A proud US Army Veteran he served in the Vietnam War from 1965-1968, and then moved to Arizona to train Arabian horses, before settling in California for a time where his daughters were born. For the past 34 years dad has made a home for his daughters, grandchildren, and anyone else who needed it in Frisco TX. Our Dad was a man of exceptional talent with a work ethic that was second to none. Anyone who met him would attest to his kind, giving and caring nature. The type of man who would go out of his way to make sure anyone had whatever they needed. He enjoyed gardening, building, watching all his Dallas teams, and spending time with his family and friends.
Dad was a loving son and brother as well as a devoted father, but his number 1 title was Grandpa, and he was ecstatic about the pending arrival of his first great-grandchild. Preceded in death by his father and mother Ernest and Lillian Wicker, brother Ernest, sister Annie, and nephew Charlie McCoy. He leaves behind his loving daughters Sarah (Brian) Priest of Providence Village, TX and Cassandra Luce of Lewisville, TX, as well as the pride and joys of his life his grand-daughters Melina (Dalton) Croley of Wylie, Ali Luce of Lewisville, Sydney Priest (his Gemini twin) of Providence Village, and treasured grandson Peyton Priest of Providence Village, TX. He is also survived by his brothers Alvis, Jimmy, Johnny, and Jerry and sisters Betty, Nancy, Sue, and Cindy as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He is already deeply missed by all who knew him and loved him.
A funeral service is scheduled for August 21, 2021. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and a Celebration of Life service with military honors at 5:00 pm in the Brooks Family Chapel at the North Dallas Funeral Home located at 2710 Valley View Lane, Dallas, Texas 75234. Please come and celebrate our dad's amazing life with family and friends.
