Obituary of Dooley, Jr., John Franklin

John Dooley Jr. was born August 21, 1951 and entered into the Gates of Heaven on Easter Weekend in 2020. John was born in San Antonio, Texas. His father who spent 20 years in the Air Force was stationed at Lackland AFB at the time. John left Texas as an infant and through his father and his own endeavors lived a life well traveled. After leaving Texas he lived in Bermuda, Oklahoma City, Taiwan, Fayetteville, North Carolina; Denver, Colorado; Topeka, Kansas; Woodbridge, England; Burns Flat, Oklahoma; Midwest City, Oklahoma; Long Beach, California; Arlington, Texas; Tampa, Palm Beach, and Miami, Florida; Dallas, Texas; Honolulu, Hawaii; and Frisco, Texas during his span of 68 years. John was an ordained minister and served as a youth director and as a pastor in several churches in the Oklahoma City area. John began working in the Funeral business and found solace in helping families in need. As the phrase goes, “John never met a stranger”, and had an uncanny way of transitioning strangers into friends for life. Proceeding John’s arrival to heaven and waiting to welcome him was his dad John Dooley Sr., his mom Norma Dooley, his grandparents Sherman and Marie Lowder, Gene Webber, Frank Dooley and Grandma Ruby, as well as his only sister Brenda Dooley. John left behind here on earth his wife Kathy of Frisco, Texas, his daughter and son in law Jessica and Reed Gardner and his grandchildren Ezra and Kennedy Gardner of Dallas, Texas, his stepdaughter and her husband Stephanie and Shawn Ballard of Sherman, Texas, his brothers and sister in laws, David and Vickey Dooley of Choctaw Oklahoma, Bruce and Rocio Dooley of Katy, Texas, and his brother Robert Dooley who resides in Oregon. John is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and coworkers. Due to Covid the family held a private burial at the family gravesite at the Dale Cemetery. The Dale cemetery is located just east of Midwest City, Oklahoma right off of I-40. John's Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 11 am in our North Dallas Funeral Home Chapel, 2710 Valley View Ln., Farmers Branch, TX 75234.  John touched so many lives and we would appreciate everyone to come and help us celebrate his life.   https://www.tributeslides.com/tributes/show/55RPWBQDG82P4XYB Please share memories and condolences on this page.
