Obituary of Gilroy, Bonnie Joy

Bonnie Joy Gilroy went home with the Lord on September 6, 2021 at age 72. She was born to Robert and Joyce Spencer, on June 26, 1949 in Pittston, Pennsylvania. She married her high school sweetheart, Charles F. (Butch) Gilroy and they had 6 children during their 37 years of marriage. Bonnie was a graduate of Dallas Pa High School where she earned a very prestigious award from Hallmark. She retired as a Specialty Pharmacy Technician. Bonnie was a woman with many hobbies such as enjoying nature, gardening, music, DIY and art but ultimately, she was best known for being a selfless and Godly woman who loved her family fiercely. She was more than just a mother to her children; she was their best friend. She taught her children so many life lessons, with the most important being to take time to count your blessings and enjoy the wonderful things God gave us.Ā  From high school to retirement Bonnie would often take time to be in nature; from taking the kids to the park, going kayaking on the lake to going on grand adventures with her best friend Diane. Wherever she went she would always bring a piece of the place back home whether that be a rock to add to her collection, a seashell, a souvenir for a family member or just pictures to share her experience. Bonnie was an amazing and kind woman who never met a stranger. She will always be fondly remembered by all who knew her. Bonnie is survived by her children Kellyann (Anthony), Charles Jr. (Aziza), Michaela (Michell), Michael, Matthew and Catherine (Edgar); her brothers Randy (Eileen), Kevin (Cindy), sisters Lori (Denny), Michelle and Karen; Her grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Bonnie was preceded by her parents, Robert and Joyce Spencer, and her husband Charles Gilroy. A viewing is scheduled for Tuesday, September 21, 2021 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Dallas, TX 75234 Funeral Mass at 9:30 am, Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 2800 Valwood Pkwy, Farmers Branch, TX 75234 followed by a Celebration of Life service at the North Dallas Funeral Home until 12:30.Ā  Graveside services to follow at 1:00 pm at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211. Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.

I am so very sorry for the loss of Bonnie. May God provide peace, comfort and strength to all of her family at this most difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I am glad I had the opportunity and pleasure to work with Bonnie 17 years ago when I first started my job at Caremark Wilkes Barre Pa…she was so nice to me…I will never forget her telling me before she left working at my place…telling me that I should *apply for her lead position* because she believed I had what it would take to do a great job….although I applied for the position but didn’t *succeed*….I treasured Bonnie for *believing in me* to strive forward…without her…I would have never tried…thank you sweet Bonnie for believing in me and for seeing me to have more to give at my job…I will never forget you for this….(Beautiful photo and obituary in honor of Bonnie…I truly know she is now walking the *golden streets in Heaven…she is truly an Angel….it was truly a blessing to have met and known her… my deepest condolences to her family…
