Thomas “Tonto” “TomTom” Jay Hamilton, 63, passed away on 01/08/2014 at Vitas Hearthstone in Irving, TX.He was born on 03/03/1950 in Vernon, TX to Ocie G.Hamilton and Wilemina K. Gaebler-Hamilton.

Thomas grew up in Vernon, TX. He graduated from Lockett High School in Lockett, TX in [grad year]. After high school he began work for Jasmine Enterprises as a framer where he worked for several years.

He also worked for Southwest Airlines as a ramp agent for the last 25  years.  He enjoyed reading, playing his guitar, building and racing cars and go karts along with wood working, and organizing events as a Jaycee to work with the community in Plano, TX.

Thomas married Crystal Shorter in 2014 after a long engagement. They were happily married for 1 year.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents Ocie and Wilhemina Hamilton, and his brothers Louie,Guy,and John Hamilton.

Thomas is survived by his spouse Crystal Hamilton of Plano, TX; his son Azura Hamilton of Sidney, MT and step son Tsion Crider of Plano,TX and his daughters Amber Brandy Godbey of Bonham, TX, Ashley Hamilton of McKinney, TX, Chelsey Hamilton of McKinney, TX, and step-daughters Shekinah and Shiloh Crider of Plano, TX; his brother Corkie Hamilton and sister Shirley Hamilton-Owen; his 7 grandchildren Kayli Ranae Knipe, Ramey Nicole Turner, Lilly Grace Godbey, Whitley Ray Godbey, Bailey Grace Hamilton, Brooke Lynn Hamilton, and Aleia Jade Hamilton; and his nieces and nephews and other relatives.

A Celebration of  Life will be held at North Dallas Funeral Home in The Brooks Family Memorial Chapel at  2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, TX 75234 at 2:00pm   January 18, 2014.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I knew Thomas as TinJun from aol . I met him online 9 yrs ago and my kids called him papa tin. We used to talk on the phone and we would video chat all the time, we would talk for hours. My husband knew him a lot longer than I did and we loved him so much and we still do and we will miss him always .
