Obituary of Frick, Richard Fred

Words are inadequate to describe the life and spirit of Rich Frick. He was born Richard Fred Frick, in Denver, CO on February 21, 1953 and passed away in Dallas, TX on January 28, 2014. Rich was preceded in death by his mother Marjorie Ochs Mazzie and step-mother Carole Ann Frick.  He is survived by his father, Paul Frick; son, Jon Frick and wife Nicole; daughters, Lindsey Zipoy and husband, Nathan; Tobi Schwab and husband, Chad; Erin Cain and husband, Adrian. The grandchildren who filled his heart with love, joy and pride – Dylan, Kaimani, Miya, Kennedy, Gavin, Scout, Marli, Skylar and Kayden.  He is also survived by his sisters: Paula Frick, Marilyn Zehentner, Sandra Battles and Patti Templeton and husband, Dennis.  Brothers:  Ron Frick and wife, Katherine; Vince Mazzie ; John Frick and wife, Nancy. He leaves us with many memories, all heartfelt and memorable. Rich was ONE OF A KIND! A story-teller first and foremost, he lived to make us laugh.  A sense of humor helps us to get through the dull times, enjoy the good times and cope with the difficult times. We've all lost someone very special, he will be greatly missed. There will be a celebration to honor Rich in St, Louis, MO, date and time pending further arrangements. Rich lived life fully and honorably. He expected the same from all who knew him. To honor his legacy, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Please send the family condolences.

Joe and I missed the pleasure of knowing Rich personal, but through John and Nancy we feel your lose as well. We pray that someday there will be a cure for diabetes with the help of the younger generation from them comes new ideas/methods of conquering this disease. Rich will be sorely missed.

Rich wow where do I start, the first time I met him he came to my home and introduced himself to my wife and I as our sons became friends in school he told me he wanted to know the parents of the friends of his son. A friendship was born from that time on he was a great guy and I will miss him. Although I did not see much of him any more since the boys have grown up I still have the memories of him and his family. Rich you were a positive influence on my son and we had some great fun on those Show Me Games soccer trips. May God bless your family in these tough times ahead, I will always have a smile when I think of Rich

Rich & I helped Gene Kray coach our boys soccer team 1st thru 3rd grade. Many years have passed but I still clearly remember his upbeat, optimistic personality and sharing many laughs. He was simply one of those guys you always loved being around for those great attributes. My deepest condolences to his loved ones.

Although my time with Richard was limited mostly to family vacations and special events I remember him as a person full of life. His magnetic personality charmed family and friends and we all loved to be around him. From the first time we met in 1972 until his death Richard was so sweet and kind to me and treated me as a sister right from the start. I love him and will miss him and am so blessed to have shared a small part of his life.

I was one of his quasi children, and have memories to last a lifetime! Rich helped to bust me when I needed it and once even found me hiding in a closet in his home when I should not have been there! I am thankful for the love and memories with his family! Love you Rich
