Obituary of Daughtry, Luester

Luester Daughtry passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 in Farmers Branch, Texas.  She was born in Omaha, Texas on January 8, 1920 to Barney and Elizabeth Daughtry. She accepted Christ at an early age. She was united with the Morning Star Baptist Church in Naples, Texas. Luester completed college and was a homemaking teacher in Houston, Texas. She also tutored students in English in the evenings. She taught for many years, until her father's health began to fail.  Later she moved back to Naples, Texas and at that time she united with the Holy Ghost Penacostal Church where she faithfully attended until moving to Emeritus (formerly Village Oaks) of Farmers Branch where she attend Bible study and Sunday service in the facilities. She loved to read and study the Bible, go to church, sewing, cooking, decorating and making quilts. Preceding Luester in death are her parents; three brothers, Willie, Samuel and John; and two sister-in-laws, Nona and Ida Veola Daughtry. She will be missed by her three nieces, Sharon(Danny)Rogers, Lewisville, Texas, Tansye Jackson of Dallas, Texas, Patricia Daughtry of Jacksonville, Florida; and one nephew, Johnny Kay of Chesapeake, Virginia and a host of relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 28, 2014 at 4:00 pm at Emertius of Farmers Branch Assisted Living, 13505 Webb Chapel Road, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234, 972-241-9355.     OMG Mrs.luester I knew her for over twenty plus years and her daughter Marrita Mason and her grandchildren and her one great grand I think it a Godly shame too keep the ones she loved and loved her away not even giving them the opportunity to say goodbye.mrs.luester raised her and she loved her and those kids matters how you where feeling that was so cruel not to try and notify them so they could say goodbye too the the only grandmother and mother they knew.Mrs.luester was a wonderful lady she has friends in east Texas hurting because no one thought we were worthy enough too know. It’s alot of people whom would have love to say their goodbyes. But God knows and see all may God have mercy.
