Obituary of Mann, Bonnie Rapier

Bonnie May Rapier was born in New Orleans, LA. in 1934 to Francis Rapier and Bonnie May Planchard and was the oldest of 4 children. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Anne Marie Rapier Mallet.
Bonnie is survived by her children Renee Mann Johnson, Eric Mann and his wife, Sheila, Holly Mann, Monica Jones and her husband, Steve, and Kristopher Mann as well as her 9 grandchildren, Kip Johnson and his wife Julianna, Andy Johnson, Scott Johnson and his wife Ashleigh, Lily Johnson McEwen and her husband Mark, Kristien, Austin and Kiya Mann, Natalie and Stephanie Jones and 3 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her brothers Frank Rapier and his wife, Shanna, and Louis Rapier and his wife, Coleen, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Bonnie was raised in New Orleans and Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi.  She graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in Bay St Louis and worked in New Orleans until she met and married Kenneth O. Mann.  They settled in St. Louis where she raised her 5 children.  Bonnie loved being a mother and a grandmother and traveled all over the United States to be with and live near her children and grandchildren and made many good friends from all over the country along the way.   She was also “Aunt Bonnie” the aunt or cousin that was there when anybody needed her, whether to help celebrate a wedding or a birth or help with the care of a sick friend or relative.
About 30 years ago, Bonnie accepted Jesus as her personal savior and was born again of the Spirit of God. Her greatest legacy lives on with the children and grandchildren who also love Jesus and are living lives for him!  She loved meeting new people and was fearless in her testimony about Jesus, her Lord and Savior.  Bonnie touched many lives with her beautiful soul by loving each person for themselves and seeing the good in all of us.
The family would like to thank Nancy Scott and the amazing care givers at Chandler Way for taking such good care of Bonnie at the end of her life as well as the wonderful staff at Compass Hospice.  In lieu of flowers the family would request a donation to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation in the name of Bonnie R Mann.
A Celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held on April 5th, 2014, at 2 PM, at Adat Shalom in Trinity Episcopal Church, 12727 Hillcrest Road, Dallas, TX 75030.   She will then be laid to rest in St. Louis, on Saturday, May 24th, at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Cemetery.
Please send family condolences and sign the guestbook on this website.
