Obituary of Freeman, Barbara Anne

Barbara Anne Freeman was born July 31, 1927 to Dr. Rex Van Duzen and Anne Barbara Shaw. She died peacefully April 2^nd of heart failure. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by husband of 63 years Fred D. Freeman, two daughters Kathryn Lee Freeman and Barbara Anne Tlanda, husband Mike Tlanda, three grandsons, Christopher, Scott, and Mark Tlanda. Sisters, Yvonne Davis and Gail Wing. Barbara graduated from Highland Park High School, attended Columbia College, and graduated from SMU with a degree in Journalism. She worked as a Medical Secretary at Southwestern Medical School. She wrote for the Oak Cliff Journal, was editor for Where Magazine, and worked for Scene Magazine at the Dallas Morning News. She enjoyed antiquing, her La Clique Club, and North Dallas Women’s Club where she served as President. We want to thank the staff at Acadia Assisted Living for their great care and kindness. Catholic mass will be held Monday April 7^th, 11:00 AM at the Mary Immaculate Church, Valwood Parkway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to SPCA Texas or a charity of your choice.
