Cox, Dwane Barry "Rusty"

Dwane, known by family and friends as Rusty, was born July 15th 1952 to D.B. and Pauline Cox. Raised in Farmers Branch and long time resident of the Carrollton-Farmers Branch area, Rusty met his wife, Debra Cox, while attending R.L Turner High School. Rusty was a loving father to their children, Casey, Kristy, James and Kathryn. He was blessed with multiple grandchildren, whom he loved dearly.

More than anything Rusty enjoyed spending quality time with those he loved. Many memories were made in the great outdoors while fishing and hunting. Rusty was also a sports fan and especially loved coaching his children’s various sports teams.

Rusty was known for his big heart and love for everyone. He will be greatly missed.

A visitation and memorial service will be held on Monday April 21st at 3:30pm at the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234.

I just found out about Rusty's passing. I will always remember fishing with Rusty, Casey and my Dad. We shared a lot of memories and friends in baseball. I will always remember as a kid his passion in both fishing and baseball and hope to pass it along. RIP

Debbie and entire family. I am sorry I could not be there with you today but know that my heart and prayers are with each of you. Rusty was the greatest and our entire family loved him so much. My Dad and Mom loved him like their own. Rusty had the greatest personality and could turn any bad day into a funny one. Greatest storyteller ever. My fabulous cousin will be greatly missed but he will find joy and comfort in hands of God. Love to each of you Geraldeen

Dear Debra and family,

I spent many great times with Dwane, working together in DeSoto P.D., and later when he was with D.S.S. I know the past few years have not been easy, and I know from my contacts with him, he was very depressed. But, I know he knew God, and I know he is taking good care of him now.

May God bless and keep you and yours!

My deepest condolescences to the family. I was a former employee with Dwane at DSS for about 16 years. I took a guided fishing trip with Dwane & Casey as well during my time there. He coached our DSS softball team as well. He will be missed greatly. I now live in Lubbock, Texas but i wanted to let the family know that i was thinking about them and their loss. Our prayers are with you! Robert & Cindy Davila

Betty, I know the love you had for your brother and I feel the loss with you. I bellieve Rusty is walking with Jesus now, safe and secure in his arms. My heartfelt sympathy is with you and your family as one day turns to the next knowing the sun will shine brighter from heaven because another has joined the angels there.
