Cox, Dwane Barry "Rusty"

Dwane, known by family and friends as Rusty, was born July 15th 1952 to D.B. and Pauline Cox. Raised in Farmers Branch and long time resident of the Carrollton-Farmers Branch area, Rusty met his wife, Debra Cox, while attending R.L Turner High School. Rusty was a loving father to their children, Casey, Kristy, James and Kathryn. He was blessed with multiple grandchildren, whom he loved dearly.

More than anything Rusty enjoyed spending quality time with those he loved. Many memories were made in the great outdoors while fishing and hunting. Rusty was also a sports fan and especially loved coaching his children’s various sports teams.

Rusty was known for his big heart and love for everyone. He will be greatly missed.

A visitation and memorial service will be held on Monday April 21st at 3:30pm at the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234.

Please feel free to send family condolences on this website.

My deepest condolescences to the family. I was a former employee with Dwane at DSS for about 16 years. I took a guided fishing trip with Dwane & Casey as well during my time there. He coached our DSS softball team as well. He will be missed greatly. I now live in Lubbock, Texas but i wanted to let the family know that i was thinking about them and their loss. Our prayers are with you! Robert & Cindy Davila

Dear Debra and family,

I spent many great times with Dwane, working together in DeSoto P.D., and later when he was with D.S.S. I know the past few years have not been easy, and I know from my contacts with him, he was very depressed. But, I know he knew God, and I know he is taking good care of him now.

May God bless and keep you and yours!
