Obituary of
Leitner, Christine Marie
Christine Marie Leitner, age 92 of Arlington, TX, passed away peacefully Friday, May 23, 2014. She survived her spouse of 40 years, John C. Leitner, by three years. She left her five surviving children, Carole McGuire of Falls Village, CT, Glorya Duer of Arlington, TX, Pat Knochelmann of Taylor Mill, KY, Mike Kempf of Fayetteville, OH and Jeff Kempf of Indianapolis, IN, two stepsons, Jeff Leitner of Raleigh, NC and Greg Leitner of Loveland, OH, as well as, 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren across the country.
Originally from Cincinnati, Christine attended Hughes High School and the University of Cincinnati. After pursuing a career as a realtor for several firms including West Shell/Coldwell Banker, she retired at age 75 to Ocala, FL with her husband. There she was active in the Spruce Creek Preserve retirement community and her church, Ocala West United Methodist Church. She was a person of strong faith and strived to improve herself and her community.
Unable to live alone, she moved to Angelic Place, an assisted living home, in Arlington, TX, the summer of 2013 near one of her daughters. Family members were with her as she passed on Friday evening, May 23rd. Wishing to be cremated and buried near her husband in Cincinnati, OH, a memorial service will be held in her honor at the family’s convenience later this summer.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a memorial fund in Christine Leitner’s name at her church, Ocala West United Methodist Church, 9330 SW 105th St., Ocala, FL 34481. (www.ocalawestumc.com)
